About Us

SonoServ Ultrasound Limited

SonoServ Ultrasound Limited is a diagnostic ultrasound practice in Trinidad and Tobago dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centred ultrasound services in a professional, comfortable and welcoming environment.

At SonoServ, we believe that quality diagnostic imaging involves more than producing an image. It requires professional competence, attention to clinical detail, evidence-informed practice, respectful communication and an understanding that every examination involves a person who deserves to be treated with dignity and care.

For this reason, our longstanding commitment remains:

Quality Care, Committed Service.

Our Mission

To support better patient care through high-quality diagnostic ultrasound, evidence-informed practice, professional excellence and compassionate, patient-centred service.

Our mission reflects our commitment to providing diagnostic ultrasound services that contribute meaningful clinical information while maintaining high standards of professionalism, patient safety, dignity and confidentiality.

Our Commitment to Quality

Quality at SonoServ extends beyond the ultrasound image.

Our examinations are approached in accordance with recognised professional standards, appropriate clinical protocols and current ultrasound practice.

We are committed to maintaining and developing our professional knowledge and skills through continuing education, reflection and engagement with advances in medical imaging.

Just as importantly, we recognise the human experience of healthcare. Patients may arrive for an ultrasound examination with questions, uncertainty or concern. We therefore strive to provide an environment in which every patient is treated with courtesy, compassion, respect and professionalism.

Our commitment to quality encompasses technical excellence, professional competence, patient safety, confidentiality, respectful communication and compassionate care.

Our Services

SonoServ provides diagnostic ultrasound services across a broad range of clinical applications, including abdominal and pelvic ultrasound, obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound, small-parts and superficial structures, prostate imaging, vascular Doppler ultrasound, musculoskeletal ultrasound, paediatric examinations and selected specialised ultrasound assessments.

Services are provided within the appropriate professional scope of diagnostic ultrasound, with findings documented and communicated to support the patient’s referring doctor or healthcare professional and subsequent clinical management.

Education Beyond the Examination

Our commitment to healthcare extends beyond the examination room.

SonoServ believes that access to understandable, trustworthy health information can help patients participate more meaningfully in their healthcare while supporting continued learning among healthcare professionals.

In 2026, this commitment led to the launch of the SonoServ Health Journal, an independent educational healthcare publication published by SonoServ Ultrasound Limited.

The Journal provides accessible, evidence-informed healthcare education for patients, families, healthcare professionals, students and the wider community. It brings together contributions and perspectives from across healthcare, with particular attention to medical imaging, patient education, professional practice and selected aspects of Trinidad and Tobago’s healthcare history.

Its purpose is educational rather than promotional: to encourage health literacy, lifelong learning, patient safety, interdisciplinary understanding and informed engagement with healthcare.

We believe that informed patients and informed professionals both contribute to better healthcare.

Our Founder

Martha Ann Pamponette, PhD, Founder and Lead Ultrasonographer at SonoServ Ultrasound Limited

Martha Ann Pamponette, PhD, MSc Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, BSc Radiography, is the founder of SonoServ Ultrasound Limited and a registered medical imaging professional with more than two decades of experience in medical imaging.

Her professional career began in diagnostic radiography before progressing into diagnostic medical ultrasound, where she has practised for approximately two decades across a broad range of clinical applications.

Her academic and professional development encompasses diagnostic radiography, diagnostic medical ultrasound, research, public policy and administration, providing a perspective that extends from the individual patient’s examination to the wider professional and healthcare systems within which care is delivered.

Her approach to practice is grounded in evidence-informed imaging, continuing professional development, patient-centred care and respect for professional standards and boundaries.

Beyond clinical practice, her interests include healthcare education, professional identity, patient communication, healthcare policy and governance, and the development and preservation of Trinidad and Tobago’s medical imaging history.

These interests also inform her role as Founder and Editor of the SonoServ Health Journal.

Looking Forward

Medical imaging continues to change.

Advances in technology, research, education and professional practice continually expand what ultrasound can contribute to healthcare. At SonoServ, we believe experience must therefore be accompanied by continued learning.

As we move forward, our commitment is to remain responsive to developments in diagnostic ultrasound while preserving the principles on which SonoServ was established: professional integrity, quality, compassion and service.

Technology may change. Knowledge will continue to advance. But the patient must remain at the centre of what we do.

SonoServ Ultrasound Limited
Quality Care, Committed Service.
